There's nothing better than a good old fashioned road trip with the family! We might do it with a bit more luxury these days but you still want to make sure the Caravan or Motorhome is sparkling clean before you leave. That’s where Wet & Forget can help! Caravan, Motorhomes and Camper Trailers It's time to get your Caravan or Motorhome ready for the Christmas holidays so you can take the family away on that long awaited break. First you need to remove that unsightly build-up of mould and any other growth that has appeared on the surface whilst it's been covered up during winter. Wet & Forget is the perfect solution, once you have diluted the Wet & Forget with the correct amount of water as per the instructions on the bottle you just spray it on to the surface and leave it. After that initial spray, every time it rains we rely on the weather to decompose the growth and to reactivate the active ingredient in Wet & Forget, so the best thing to do is to leave the caravan outside in the weather for the rain to do its job. The other alternative is to run the hose over the caravan whilst you are watering your garden, that way all that build-up will start to wash away. Wet & Forget is safe to apply to any exterior surface including aluminium cladding and fibreglass. In a few months your caravan should be looking clean again! Awnings & Annexes You can even apply Wet & Forget to your canvas awning if it has any growth on it as well. Just roll out the awning and apply the diluted Wet & Forget as per bottle instructions. Make sure the awning is dry before you roll it back up again. Ideally it is best to leave the awning exposed to the weather for as long as possible to help the mould to decompose. If the awning is older and it is in need of re-waterproofing, then its best done after you have applied the Wet & Forget and the residual has washed off the awning. Suitable for all types of awnings and annexes including acrylic, canvas & polyester. Outdoor Umbrella, Outdoor Chairs and Tarpaulins It doesn’t matter if your umbrella is canvas or polyester, or if your outdoor chairs are timber or wicker! Just spray and leave and over time they will come clean. You can use Wet & Forget on your outdoor cushions and tarpaulins as well. Mould or Mildew inside your Caravan No Problem! Wet & Forget Indoor is the easiest way to kill mould & mildew inside. It will also clean, deodorise and sanitise in one labour saving step! Cleaning headstones with Wet & Forget
Have you ever thought of using Wet & Forget to clean up mouldy headstones or graves? Read on to learn about the different types of growth that can occur on gravestones, and the stories of customers who have had great success in restoring their gravestones using Wet & Forget. Mary P from Wahroonga called us to say, She went to see her family grave site and noticed it was looking quite dark from mould, especially on the beautiful marble. The grave stones had not been touched since 1943. She had always wondered what to clean them with, and the she heard about our wonderful product Wet & Forget. She said now that she has used Wet & Forget, the graves have cleaned up a treat! Types of growths Any type of headstone can fall victim to growths such as moss, mould, lichen, algae and mildew. Moss. Moss is a green, carpet-like simple plant that can grow on and around tombstones. Just like lichen, moss growth can fill in the writing on a tombstone and make it illegible. Moss’s root-like structures hold tightly to the tombstone’s surface, and can cause pitting on some surfaces. Moss also likes to grow in cracks and crevices, and can worsen any cracking or crumbling on a tombstone. Mould. Mould is usually black or grey, but it can also be other colours. Mould grows well in shady, damp areas, so gravestones in shaded parts of the cemetery are most susceptible to this musty-smelling growth. Lichen. Lichen is one of the most severe growths for headstones. This scaly growth can become thick enough to completely fill in carvings and make burial markers completely unreadable. Lichen forms a tight hold on the headstone that makes it stubborn and difficult to clean. Worse yet, if left unchecked, lichen’s grip can cause permanent pitting on some surfaces. Algae. Algae is a simple plant-like growth that can appear on many surfaces, including gravestones. Green algae is a smooth or slippery green growth that thrives where there is moisture and partial sunlight. Mildew. Mildew is usually very light grey or white in colour. It is a fungus like growth that normally grows in damp warmer areas. How to remove them Moss, mould, lichen, algae and mildew can ruin the appearance of any type of headstone. If you use caustic chemicals such as bleach to remove these growths, you risk damaging the surface of some types of headstones. Bleaching also requires scrubbing, which can leave you with bleach-stained clothes and chapped hands, and can kill the grass surrounding the stone. After all that hassle, bleach does nothing to prevent growths from starting to re-form almost immediately. Wet & Forget removes moss, mould, lichen, algae and mildew with no scrubbing necessary. Just spray and leave to remove any of the above growths and restore headstones to a clean, beautiful state. Typically, Wet & Forget gets rid of green moss in 2-3 weeks, and black mould in 4-6 months. Wet & Forget's gentle, non-caustic formula is safe to use on any type of headstone, and it won’t kill the grass around the stone. Better still, Wet & Forget continues working with the sun, wind and rain over time to keep the growth away for a year or more in most cases. Just one simple treatment a year can keep headstones growth-free for good! How to Clean a Headstone with Wet & Forget Cleaning headstones with Wet & Forget couldn’t be easier! Mix one part Wet & Forget with 5 parts water in a backpack or garden sprayer. Spray the affected area with the diluted Wet & Forget. Allow at least 12 hours drying time before the threat of rain. If you have lichen we suggest a second application within 15 minutes of the first. Walk away, and let Wet & Forget do the work for you! Treat once a year, or at the first sign of re-growth. Roof Cleaning Information
Removing biological growth from your roof is easy. There are 2 main types of growth that can be found on a roof: lichen and black mould. How to identify lichen and black mould: Lichen often appears as a flat cauliflower-like growth, sometimes seen on rocks and logs out in the bush. Lichen is often a light green-grey colour. Lichen is difficult to remove manually as it has many natural suction-caps that anchor it to the surface it is on. Black mould is best described as dirt that does not move. Black mould will be a very dark colour, mainly black or grey, and looks like specks of dirt however they will not come off when washed. Bleach based products can make it appear to be gone however, the mould can return quickly. Wet & Forget does not contain bleach and is specifically designed to target and kill the biological growth which keeps the surface cleaner for longer. Treating roof growth: We have two products that will effectively kill and decompose biological growth on roofs. These two products work the same way, however the visual results are not instant and these products will take some time to decompose the dead growth. Black mould will noticeably improve within 6-8 months, however if the area is heavily contaminated it can take up to 12 months. Lichen requires two applications within 15 minutes of each other and will take 8-12 months to decompose. Wet & Forget 5L Concentrate The original Wet & Forget 5L concentrate makes 30L of product when diluted into a garden sprayer and can cover a minimum of 100sq metres, depending on the porosity of the surface. When Wet & Forget is applied it immediately kills the spores, and then works with the weather to decompose the growth over time. Learn more about Wet & Forget here Rapid Application 2L Hose-End The Rapid Application 2L Hose-End does the exact same job as the Wet & Forget 5L concentrate, the only difference is that it has been designed to be quicker and easier to use (which is why it is in a 2L bottle) and it connects to a standard garden hose. Rapid Application dilutes automatically in the bottle and will also make 30L of product and cover a minimum of 100sq metres. Learn more about Rapid Application here NOTE: These two products, while they do the same thing, are NOT interchangeable! Wet & Forget cannot be used in the Rapid Application bottle. Treating Lichen and Black mould with Wet & Forget OR Rapid Application Treating Lichen For an average 3 bedroom tile roof (approx. 150sq metres) with lichen, you will require either 3 x 5L Wet & Forget concentrate bottles or 3 x 2L Rapid Application bottles. This depends on how much of the area is covered with lichen and how porous the surface is. Lichen should be spot sprayed first and left for 10-15 minutes before treating the entire roof. After 10-15 minutes, respray the lichen and then spray the rest of the roof to the point of saturation. This ensures that the lichen properly absorbs the product – the first application dissolves the waxy coating of the lichen, and the second is to penetrate it and kill the spores. Treating Black Mould For an average 3 bedroom tile roof (approx. 150sq metres) with black mould, you will require either 2 x 5L Wet & Forget concentrate bottles or 2 x 2L Rapid Application bottles. Due to the undulations in the tile, the area being treated is actually larger than 150sq metres, and this is why we say to use 2 packs. This also depends on how much of the area is covered with biological growth and how porous the surface is. How and When to treat your roof: Wet & Forget and Rapid Application are best applied to a DRY roof on a cool, dry day with minimal wind. This will avoid the product being blown away as it is being sprayed on and will also avoid it evaporating too fast in the hot sun or on a hot surface. Make sure that there is no rain expected for at least 12 hours, as premature rain can wash the product off before it has properly penetrated the growth. If these conditions have been met, it is a good time to apply Wet & Forget or Rapid Application! Spray the product on the affected surface to the point of saturation. DO NOT rinse it off! If the surface you are treating is badly contaminated, you can apply a second application one month after the first. Notes about Tank Water If you are on tank water disconnect the water supply to your tank for at least the first 10mm of rain or 2 good downpours to avoid any chance of contamination. Check before reconnecting that the water flowing onto the ground, when raining is not foaming. Safety Information Please ensure when applying Wet & Forget or Rapid Application that the instructions are followed properly and that the correct PPE according to the back label is worn. Wet & Forget should not be applied to your roof without the use proper safety equipment. Avoid standing on areas that have already been treated as the area will be slippery until the product is dry.

Beat black mould the DIY way
If you have black mould outside your home, you know how unsightly it can look. Black mould grows on surfaces such as your driveway, path, porch and roof, and it turns any area it invades into an ugly, sooty-looking mess. This hardy growth stubbornly adheres to surfaces, and it can be a real struggle to clean. It’s easy with Wet & Forget, all you have to do is spray on and leave it. The weather will slowly decompose the dead growth and over time the surface will become clean! No elbow grease necessary! Unlike green algae, which prefers shady areas, black mould has a dark-coloured shell that protects it from even the brightest sunlight. This protection means that black mould is perfectly at home on your path, driveway or roof, where it can cause a general black or grey discoloration. The same shell that protects black algae from the sun also makes it tough to get rid of. Using bleach usually requires scrubbing, which isn't exactly an easy job. A pressure washer is hard to use, and getting rid of black mould with a pressure washer can take some time. Worse yet, both of these methods risk damaging the surface. Bleach can be corrosive, and kill your lawn with caustic run off, and a pressure washer can cause wear and tear on the surface. Neither bleach nor pressure washing does anything to prevent re-growth, which means that black mould can start forming almost from the moment you finish cleaning and trap you in a cycle of cleaning and re-cleaning. Wet & Forget is the way to break free from the cycle. Just spray and leave, and Wet & Forget does the work for you. Wet & Forget works with the weather such as the wind and rain to kill and wash away black mould over time, leaving your surface clean. Wet & Forgets gentle, non-caustic formula is safe to use on any exterior surface, and if you get any run off it won’t kill your lawn.
